On behalf of the Journal of Colorectal Cancer: Open Access, as Editor-in-Chief, it is my distinct honour and privilege to inform you that, it’s been Six long years we have started the Journal, now we are celebrating the 6th Anniversary and we are privileged to welcome Cancer Society to our journal. As Editor-In-Chief it is my great pleasure and honour to welcome you to the Journal of Colorectal Cancer: Open Access, Opening Issue of the Year 2020.

Many colorectal cancers can be prevented through regular screening. Screening can find precancerous polyps— abnormal growths in the colon or rectum, so that they can be removed before they turn into cancer. Screening is crucial because when found early, colorectal cancer is highly treatable. Submit Here

The Journal Opening Issue of the year in the 6th Volume which covers a wide variety of specialties including Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer associated morbidity and mortality. Main risk factors include advanced age, affected family members, and male sex and lifestyle factors. The development of early adenoma to invasive cancer requires 10 and more years. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide. This article examines strategies for the prevention and early diagnosis of CRC, and reviews the aetiology and risk factors for CRC. Preventative strategies involve improving modifiable risk factors through public health awareness. Patients known to be at higher risk of CRC development, such as those with a genetic predisposition or long-standing inflammatory bowel disease, should undergo endoscopic surveillance in order to detect early cancer or polyps.
